Responsibilities
- Build reliable systems for autonomous vehicle operations, including depot logistics, automation flows, and critical vehicle state infrastructure.
- Manage end-to-end availability and performance for core fleet services and develop observability and automation to maintain sufficient usable vehicle supply.
- Own services across their lifecycle from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement.
- Design and implement software, telemetry, deployment improvements, and automation for fleet-specific and global infrastructure services.
- Respond to fleet and supply infrastructure incidents, lead incident response, and participate in on-call operations.
- Lead technical direction and architectural guidelines in collaboration with SREs, software engineers, and product managers.
- Conduct blameless retrospectives and drive continuous operational improvement.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience architecting and maintaining mission-critical systems in C++, Java, or Python.
- Experience with massive distributed systems, deep-dive performance profiling, and large-scale refactoring.
- Experience defining SLI, SLO, and SLA frameworks and deploying observability systems aligned with critical service health and user, developer, and SRE needs.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives between Engineering and Dev.
- Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers and driving technical roadmap decisions.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 8+ years of similar experience with leadership experience.
- Preferred: engineering leadership of a mission-critical system at scale.
- Preferred: translating reliability needs into technical roadmaps and data-driven SLO frameworks.
- Preferred: leading architectural investigations and resolving complex, high-impact system failures across the stack.
- Preferred: a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
