Responsibilities
- Build and evolve cloud, database, and end-to-end benchmarking, profiling, and load-testing tooling
- Define benchmark suites and reference workloads that reflect real customer behavior
- Establish performance baselines and regression gates with variance tracking, environment control, and change detection
- Create triage workflows, owner routing, and clear reproducible reports from benchmark results
- Partner with database teams such as Multigres and OrioleDB to identify bottlenecks and deliver performance improvements
- Build continuous benchmarking infrastructure that product teams can run on pull requests or locally
- Improve load generators, workloads, and benchmark environments so results reliably represent product performance
- Develop regression triage tooling using diffing, profiles, traces, and query-level attribution
- Enable product teams to self-serve performance testing and root-cause analysis
Requirements
- Deep experience in performance engineering, benchmarking, and profiling complex distributed systems
- Experience owning benchmarking systems where reproducibility and variance control were important
- Strong systems intuition across databases, storage, networking, and cloud infrastructure
- Ability to work across product, infrastructure, and database teams
- Pragmatic, tooling-oriented approach with strong communication skills
