Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and continuously improve systems for data ingestion, processing, storage, and sharing.
- Build and optimize scalable, reliable, and performant data architectures.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using modern tools and frameworks.
- Integrate and synchronize data across systems, including real-time, message-based, and event-driven integrations.
- Maintain high standards of data quality, security, availability, and performance.
- Collaborate with analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions.
- Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot software, and fix defects.
- Implement monitoring and alerting for data workflows.
- Contribute to a cross-functional Agile team and establish data engineering best practices for risk and finance reporting.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar position.
- Proven experience with SQL and Python.
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Understanding of streaming data pipelines and Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
- Familiarity with Airflow or dbt.
- Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Knowledge of real-time, message-based, and event-driven solution integrations.
- Exposure to test automation, DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, and security best practices.
- Financial industry experience, particularly in risk or finance, is advantageous.
- Ability to take ownership and drive initiatives independently.
- Fluent spoken and written English is required.
