Responsibilities
- Own and execute the technical roadmap for the engineering domain.
- Design, document, and deliver scalable, cost-efficient, low-latency platform solutions, APIs, and core backend features.
- Identify architectural bottlenecks and technical debt and drive iterative refactoring plans.
- Lead root-cause analysis and permanent remediation for complex production issues in distributed SaaS environments.
- Establish engineering standards through code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Mentor and develop engineers in problem-solving, systems thinking, coding practices, and operational discipline.
- Partner with Architecture, Product Management, Design, QA, Operations, and Customer Success to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Ensure platform designs and engineering practices comply with information security standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12–15 years of hands-on software engineering and systems/platform engineering experience in modern distributed SaaS environments.
- Proven ownership of end-to-end architecture and technical strategy for large-scale products or core platform infrastructure.
- Experience building, shipping, and maintaining high-availability, low-latency, high-throughput systems.
- Extensive experience collaborating with and influencing multidisciplinary teams.
- Expert-level Java with Spring/Spring Boot or Python expertise for high-scale backend services.
- Deep proficiency in multi-tier application architecture, microservices design, APIs, messaging queues, and database-layer optimization.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
- Advanced Linux knowledge, production debugging, log analysis, and system telemetry experience in distributed cloud/SaaS environments.
- Experience with CI/CD automation, unit and integration testing frameworks, and maintainable code development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical trade-offs to technical and executive stakeholders.
