Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software components in modern C++ with attention to memory safety, concurrency, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Build secure APIs, services, and distributed application components for Hyland’s enterprise platforms.
- Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, debugging, backlog prioritization, estimation, and continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot production issues, analyze performance bottlenecks, and improve reliability in cloud and containerized environments.
- Use Python, Java, or C# for scripting, automation, integration utilities, and interoperability work.
- Apply GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, and related AI-assisted development tools responsibly while validating generated code through testing, review, and security practices.
- Work with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or Azure, Azure DevOps, GitHub, databases, and messaging technologies.
Requirements
- Requires 4–7 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on production development.
- Strong modern C++ experience, including C17/C20, object lifetimes, memory management, templates, concurrency, exception safety, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Experience building APIs, services, and distributed applications with secure coding, automated testing, maintainable design patterns, and cloud or enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and systems fundamentals.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development or AI-enabled product features, prompt engineering, and validating AI-generated code to production standards.
- Exposure to LLM APIs, embeddings, RAG concepts, vector databases, or AI-powered search and automation use cases is preferred.
- Experience with Kafka, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or PostgreSQL and high-throughput data flows, queries, or messaging patterns is preferred.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes and experience deploying, scaling, or troubleshooting containerized services in AWS or Azure is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication, collaboration, ownership, and experience working in Agile product development teams are required.
