Responsibilities
- Build and improve tools that keep Shopify’s platform resilient and performant.
- Develop production tooling and services to improve platform reliability.
- Participate in on-call rotations, respond to automated alerts, and execute playbooks.
- Identify process gaps and build or improve tools for incident management.
- Reduce signal noise to improve platform understanding and debugging efficiency.
- Help engineering teams create resilient systems and prevent recurring incidents.
Requirements
- Experienced software engineering or Site Reliability Engineering background.
- Ability to work on large-scale, robust, and performant production systems.
- Willingness and ability to perform required on-call work.
- Preparedness to complete a live pair-programming interview using a personal IDE.
