Responsibilities
- Build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems in a DevSecOps environment.
- Work with development, operations, and cloud operations teams to build highly available and cost-effective systems and resolve trouble tickets.
- Develop scripts and tools for auto-remediation, end-to-end monitoring, and alerting across critical systems.
- Build infrastructure-as-code patterns using Terraform, cloud CLI scripting, and cloud SDK programming while meeting security and engineering standards.
- Participate as a first responder in a 24/7 follow-the-sun operating model for incident and problem management.
- Monitor system availability and performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventative remedies.
Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding, such as physics or mathematics, or equivalent job experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in software engineering, systems administration, database administration, and networking.
- At least 1 year of experience developing or administering software in a public cloud.
- Experience monitoring infrastructure and application uptime and availability.
- Experience with languages such as Python, Bash, Java, Go, JavaScript, and/or Node.js.
- Cross-functional knowledge of systems, storage, networking, security, and databases.
- System administration and automation experience with Linux/Windows, Terraform, Chef, Ansible, and/or containers such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices.
- Cloud certification is strongly preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, systems thinking, operational excellence, and technical communication skills.
