Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and maintain features in the Rails application.
- Build and work with web APIs.
- Write automated tests and apply common testing practices.
- Work with relational databases and SQL.
- Collaborate with Information Security, Compliance, engineering, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews, pairing, and technical discussions.
- Take increasing ownership of features from initial discussion through implementation and release.
Requirements
- Professional experience developing modern web applications using an MVC web framework.
- Experience building and working with web APIs such as REST or GraphQL.
- Experience writing automated tests and familiarity with common testing practices.
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English within the engineering team.
- Ruby/Rails experience is preferred but not required.
- Japanese language ability is a nice-to-have.
- Experience using React or similar frontend frameworks is a nice-to-have.
