Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test APIs supporting Rakuten Card’s customer-facing website and mobile application.
  • Implement additional features and internal operational improvements for Rakuten Card services.
  • Use AI during development to improve productivity, security, and quality.
  • Collaborate with development teams, offshore members, and outsourced teams, including teams in Vietnam and India.
  • Contribute to cloud lift-and-shift and development-and-operations collaboration initiatives.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of Java development experience using Java 8 or later.
  • Experience with Java EE, especially JPA.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs.
  • Experience improving quality through automated testing and related practices.
  • Basic knowledge of source control tools such as Git and GitHub.
  • Preferred experience with Agile development, UNIX/Linux servers, databases and SQL, TCP/IP networking, GitHub or Bitbucket, API gateway development and operation, and cloud lift-and-shift initiatives.
