Base Salary

$102k - $219k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain clean, reliable, testable code for Teams Phone services.
  • Build extensible, scalable, secure, diagnosable, and production-ready distributed services and features.
  • Use AI tools responsibly across the software development lifecycle and validate AI-generated changes.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, product managers, privacy, security, and SRE partners using requirements, customer feedback, and telemetry.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot live-site issues, and improve telemetry, troubleshooting guides, and incident fixes.
  • Contribute automation, tooling, documentation, and process improvements to engineering and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred alternatives include a master's degree and 3+ years of experience, or a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience with large-scale cloud or distributed systems is preferred.
  • Experience with PSTN telephony systems is preferred.
  • Experience building automation with Ansible and developing or operating CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions is preferred.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with SCI access based on an SSBI with polygraph.
  • Must satisfy required Microsoft, customer, and government security screenings, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
  • Must provide U.S. citizenship verification due to applicable citizenship-based legal restrictions.
