Base Salary

$166k - $166k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement application-level firmware solutions.
  • Create firmware designs of moderate complexity, support platform design, and work across business units to develop modular designs.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve firmware defects found during bench, lab, and production QA testing.
  • Conduct peer reviews of firmware, hardware, connected software designs, implementations, and tests.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand functional requirements, report status, and develop designs and test cases.
  • Collaborate with hardware and firmware developers and myQ cloud architects on connected B2B and B2C solutions.
  • Supervise small groups of developers, prioritize work, manage risk, and drive deliverables.
  • Generate detailed project plans, manage Gantt charts and Scrum backlogs, and lead Agile initiatives involving training, planning, and tracking.
  • Support development processes, best practices, and functional development process definition.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and participate in professional development and industry activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; foreign equivalent degrees are accepted.
  • Five years of experience in the offered job, Firmware Engineer or Architect, Software Analyst, Software Programmer, or a related role.
  • Experience with C/C++ programming.
  • Experience with microcontroller board bring-up and chip-level hardware debugging.
  • Experience with serial communication interfaces.
  • Experience communicating with stakeholders to understand requirements and report status.
  • Experience creating test cases.
  • Experience with CAN or Vehicle Serial Bus.
  • Ability to supervise small developer groups and manage project deliverables.

  • The role is based in Oak Brook, Illinois, with work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., five days and 40 hours per week.
  • Travel of up to 10% is required domestically and internationally to unanticipated locations or customer sites.
