Responsibilities
- Extend machine learning training and runtime frameworks with new features and optimizations.
- Develop optimized software, machine learning kernels, compiler tools, and model-efficiency tools for AI models deployed on hardware.
- Provide technical expertise for machine learning hardware and software co-design for inference and training solutions.
- Lead teams developing, adapting, and prototyping machine learning solutions.
- Oversee the application of machine learning techniques to products and AI solutions.
- Conduct and support experiments that train and evaluate machine learning solutions.
- Review proposals and roadmaps for complex product subsystems and features.
- Supervise direct reports and manage budgets, schedules, and performance standards for the functional area.
- Communicate complex technical information to senior stakeholders and influence long-term plans and objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and 8+ years of relevant engineering experience; alternatively, a master's degree and 7+ years or a PhD and 6+ years.
- 5+ years of experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Caffe, Caffe2, PyTorch, or Keras.
- 5+ years of experience with low-level operating-system and hardware interaction, including Linux, Android, or QNX.
- 5+ years of experience developing and optimizing embedded systems for machine learning problem domains such as NLP or multimedia.
- 5+ years of experience with machine-learning programming languages such as Python, R, C, or C++.
- 5+ years of experience using statistics and probability, including conditional probability and Bayes’ rule.
- 4+ years of technical leadership experience, with or without direct reports, where applicable.
- 4+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
- 3+ years of experience interacting with senior leadership, such as senior directors or above.
- Experience developing at least one novel machine learning architecture.
- A master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
