Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain embedded telematics software on TCU platforms using Embedded Linux or RTOS for commercial vehicles, off-highway machinery, and passenger cars.
- Develop vehicle-network interfaces and diagnostics using CAN, CAN-FD, J1939, FMS, ISOBUS/ISO 11783, OEM signal matrices, UDS/ISO 14229, and DoIP.
- Integrate 4G/5G modems and GNSS, and implement MQTT/HTTPS telemetry pipelines and device management with AWS IoT or Azure IoT.
- Build and maintain OTA update mechanisms, remote diagnostics, and fleet-management data services.
- Implement eCall/ERA-GLONASS, tachograph and driver-data interfaces, and emissions and usage monitoring features.
- Apply automotive cybersecurity and support functional safety activities under applicable standards.
- Own features through requirements analysis, architecture, implementation, unit and integration testing, vehicle validation, and field issue resolution.
- Collaborate with OEM customers, cloud/backend teams, hardware engineers, and suppliers, and support SOP milestones and field escalations.
- Mentor junior engineers and drive code quality through reviews, CI/CD, and static analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of embedded software development experience in automotive, telematics, or IoT.
- Strong C/C++ skills, including C++14 or later, and Python experience for tooling and test automation.
- Proficiency with Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, bus analyzers, JTAG/Lauterbach debuggers, Git, and CI/CD.
- Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux using Yocto or Buildroot and/or RTOS on ARM-based platforms.
- Experience with LTE/5G modems, AT command/RIL integration, GNSS, MQTT, TLS, and REST.
- Experience with OTA update frameworks and secure boot or secure communication concepts.
- Strong debugging ability across embedded, network, and cloud boundaries, including work with vehicles and test benches.
- Knowledge of CAN/CAN-FD, J1939, UDS, and DoIP, plus at least one of ISOBUS, FMS, or Automotive Ethernet/SOME-IP.
- Familiarity with Automotive SPICE or comparable structured development processes.
- Preferred experience includes telematics delivery across commercial/off-highway and passenger-car programs, global OEM collaboration, eCall/ERA-GLONASS, digital tachograph, emissions telematics, AUTOSAR Classic or Adaptive, Android Automotive, QNX, automotive cybersecurity and functional safety standards, V2X, edge analytics, or vehicle data platforms such as COVESA VSS.
