
Software Engineer II

- Collaborate with AI agents and tools to build, test, and deploy software across the software development lifecycle.
- Experiment with prompt engineering and share effective AI tool usage with the team.
- Participate in design, development, estimation, product strategy, and delivery discussions.
- Develop unit and system tests while following secure coding practices.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and enhancements for application and system features.
- Use logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and observability tools to monitor system health and diagnose production issues.
- Document processes and best practices, communicate status and risks, participate in code reviews, and drive assigned work to completion.
- Deliver working, maintainable, testable, performant software each sprint while identifying automation and improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2 years of experience in a related field, or a master’s degree with up to 2 years of experience, or 14 years of related experience.
- Consistent and effective use of AI coding assistants across the software development lifecycle, including contextual prompting and critical evaluation of generated output.
- Sound analytical judgment and ability to troubleshoot moderately complex issues with limited guidance.
- Working proficiency across supported backend, frontend, and SQL or relational data layers, with depth in at least one layer.
- Comfort with Git workflows, branching strategies, and collaborative development practices.
- Working knowledge of logging, metrics, and monitoring tools such as New Relic, dashboards, and alerts.
- Ability to explain technical tradeoffs and status clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Spec Driven Development experience is a plus.
