Senior Software Engineer, Research
Hippocratic AIResponsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable backend systems supporting high-performance healthcare AI applications.
- Design and build distributed multimodal data pipelines for large-scale speech, vision, and text datasets.
- Build and manage APIs and microservices for data retrieval, processing, and interaction with AI models.
- Monitor and optimize backend systems for performance, reliability, and uptime.
- Build infrastructure for reproducible ML workflows from data preparation through model deployment.
- Develop infrastructure supporting data ingestion, feature extraction, and tagging workflows.
- Implement tag management and metadata systems for dataset organization and retrieval.
- Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, product managers, physicians, and other cross-functional teams to translate healthcare requirements into technical solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 4 years of backend development experience using Python, Golang, or similar programming languages.
- Experience building and maintaining multimodal data pipelines using Ray or Apache Airflow for distributed processing and model experimentation.
- Experience with distributed computing using Spark, Hadoop, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with relational database systems and RESTful APIs.
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP.
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts or experience working with LLMs is preferred.
- Experience handling sensitive or regulated data is preferred.
- Familiarity with gRPC or GraphQL is preferred.
- Experience with real-time audio and data science is preferred.
- Exposure to DevOps concepts, deployment, Terraform, and build systems is preferred.
