Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of AI/ML, generative AI, and agentic AI solutions, including AI assistant tools.
- Architect end-to-end AI systems using Python for machine learning and Java for scalable enterprise backend services.
- Design intelligent agentic systems with autonomous decision-making and self-optimizing automation capabilities.
- Develop, fine-tune, optimize, and productionize large language models using parameter-efficient and full fine-tuning methods.
- Implement prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, hybrid search, and multi-vector retrieval solutions.
- Own AI model and service deployment pipelines using CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and major cloud platforms.
- Design efficient SQL and NoSQL data storage, retrieval, and management strategies.
- Establish engineering practices, architectural patterns, tooling standards, observability, maintainability, and cost-efficiency for full-stack AI development.
- Ensure adherence to ethical AI, data privacy, security, compliance, and responsible AI standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and share expertise across AI/ML, Java, cloud, and CI/CD engineering.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of progressive software engineering and AI/ML development experience, including at least 5 years focused on generative AI, agentic AI, and full-stack AI solutions.
- Expert Python proficiency, including Pandas, NumPy, and machine-learning development.
- Strong Java proficiency with Spring Boot, enterprise integration patterns, RESTful APIs, and scalable enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, fine-tuning methods such as LoRA, QLoRA, Adapter/Prefix Tuning, and instruction tuning.
- Experience with model optimization techniques including compression and quantization, and tools such as DeepSpeed, vLLM, and GPTQ or similar.
- Experience with prompt engineering, RAG systems, machine-learning frameworks, distributed training, NLP, transfer learning, and advanced learning paradigms.
- Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, and AWS Bedrock.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and application integration.
- Hands-on experience with at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP and related compute, storage, networking, AI/ML, and data services.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure as code, configuration management, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools for production systems.
- Understanding of AI compliance, guardrails, responsible AI, and enterprise security standards.
- Demonstrated successful enterprise projects using Python, Java, cloud services, and CI/CD or DevOps practices.
- Extensive experience with large-scale distributed systems and high-availability, high-performance architecture.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

Benefits
- Primary location is Jacksonville, Florida, United States, and the role is full time.
- Base salary range is $125,600.00-$188,400.00.
