Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and end-to-end delivery of Unified Observability features from architecture through production operation.
- Drive cross-team decisions involving data ingestion, query performance, cost boundaries, instrumentation, data onboarding, access control, and platform integration.
- Build and operate distributed, multi-tenant observability systems spanning metrics, logs, traces, and telemetry sources.
- Use AI tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, code review, debugging, and engineering workflow automation.
- Raise engineering standards through mentorship, design reviews, written communication, hiring, and team-culture development.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years in a technical leadership or principal-level role.
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar agentic coding environments and sound judgment when reviewing AI-generated work.
- Strong Java proficiency, including API design, data modeling, and service-layer architecture, plus hands-on front-end/UI development with React or Lightning Web Components.
- Experience operating distributed, multi-tenant systems at scale with OpenTelemetry, Kafka, HBase, ClickHouse or equivalent time-series databases, and Grafana.
- Preferred qualifications include observability, monitoring, telemetry pipeline, SRE/on-call tooling, incident response, OpenTelemetry and OCSF familiarity, PromQL, high-cardinality metrics, distributed tracing, log aggregation, dashboard UI development, capacity planning, cross-team strategy, and mentoring experience.
- Ability to decompose product requirements into parallel workstreams, drive execution, communicate clearly, build consensus, and focus on measurable customer outcomes.
