Responsibilities
- Define product software architectures and project definitions for mainstream products.
- Support customer project teams by providing software architecture solutions aligned with regional and OEM expectations.
- Participate in design decisions and serve as a key stakeholder on the change control board.
- Mentor architects and share software architecture best practices while enforcing relevant processes.
- Evaluate risks, estimate proposed changes, provide alternative solutions, and collaborate with development teams.
- Maintain high-quality architecture artifacts, track compliance topics, and represent ASPICE evaluations.
- Participate in key software development reviews and provide technical recommendations.
- Manage technical complexity and drive, enforce, and evaluate best practices across stakeholders.
- Develop software blueprints from functional and non-functional requirements and identified architectural drivers.
- Monitor architecture trends and drive adoption of future technical requirements.
- Work with multisite teams and represent software architecture across interdisciplinary groups.
- Ensure software reuse and manage product-related variances.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing software architectures in the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of software architecture standards, design patterns, architectural styles, and technical infrastructure.
- Proficiency in C and C++ for software architecture descriptions.
- Experience with requirements management, traceability, and architecture tools such as DOORS.
- Experience with microcontrollers, resource management, and software performance optimization for multicore and distributed systems.
- In-depth knowledge of embedded systems and associated real-time operating systems.
- Knowledge of vehicle architectures and associated systems, with AUTOSAR required.
- Familiarity with automotive security, safety, and connected-systems standards.
- Familiarity with code quality and compliance practices, including MISRA and other programming-language standards.
- Ability to execute automotive software quality processes, with ASPICE representation required.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
- Ability to manage stakeholders and lead a team of architects.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 and ASPICE is desirable.
- ISAQB certification and openness toward people-related topics are advantageous.
