Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Design and document structured content models and metadata frameworks for scalable content creation, reuse, maintainability, authoring workflows, and editorial governance.
  • Provide technical leadership to engineering partners on consuming, rendering, and scaling structured content across new user interfaces.
  • Coach team members on content APIs and prototype solutions aligned with front-end needs.
  • Integrate and standardize content across print and digital workflows to support a unified user experience.
  • Develop content architecture strategy for the Authentic Work Platform and align content infrastructure with product and user goals.
  • Lead modernization efforts such as content-system migrations, governance improvements, and large-scale model redesigns.
  • Collaborate with engineers on reusable components, content validation, API integration, personalization, AI readiness, search, and findability.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience designing structured content or data models and workflows for digital products.
  • Expertise with structured content systems such as XML and DITA in production-scale, user-facing environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise content management systems such as Drupal and XDocs, including authoring workflows and metadata structures.
  • Technical fluency in reading and debugging delivery APIs, scripting transformations, and analyzing markup or metadata.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex content systems through diagrams, documentation, or data.
  • Systems-thinking, architectural, collaboration, influencing, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as technical communication, information science, or computer science, and 4–6 years of structured content experience, or equivalent experience in a content engineering role.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to travel 3–5 times per year to College Board offices or for College Board business.
