Base Salary

$113k - $188k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Recommend and implement data architecture and data accessibility strategies aligned with organizational architecture.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data warehouses, business intelligence solutions, ETL processes, logical data models, and physical database designs.
  • Build Python-based ETL scripts and SQL- and JavaScript-based UDFs, and author and review complex analytical queries.
  • Collaborate with business partners, analysts, data and ML teams, product, design, executives, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Optimize systems and processes for speed, scalability, and reliability while troubleshooting and improving existing systems.
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines and apply agentic AI tooling across data engineering development and process improvement.
  • Write clean, maintainable, efficient code and produce comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Mentor junior engineers, promote effective team practices, and contribute to team culture and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, or relevant work experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience with modern data engineering projects and practices, including scalable solutions using AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, Postgres, MongoDB, and Kafka.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing, building, and deploying cloud-native solutions.
  • Experience with Java, Python, SQL, distributed systems, production-grade software, and software engineering best practices.
  • Proficiency in a cloud stack such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure, and experience with event-streaming technologies such as Kafka.
  • Understanding of ML concepts, RESTful APIs, performant data models, containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with AI code assistant tooling such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or ChatGPT.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
