Responsibilities
- Integrate and maintain Justride SDKs on embedded and hardware-enabled fare collection devices, including NFC, contactless EMV, and barcode validation.
- Build and maintain the Android point-of-sale application and integrations with card readers, NFC readers, and printers.
- Develop on-device services and integration proxies for onboard vehicle systems such as GPS and AVL.
- Contribute to cloud services supporting devices, including remote configuration and software updates.
- Write tested code and contribute to code reviews, CI pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and releases.
- Troubleshoot device-to-cloud issues using logs, metrics, and lab hardware.
- Participate in feature refinement, technical discussions, and solution design while supporting team outcomes.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of commercial software engineering experience.
- Solid programming skills in at least one language and willingness to learn others.
- Ability to work across cloud services and device-level systems.
- Experience building or running services on AWS or another major cloud platform.
- Grounding in unit, integration, and contract testing, Git workflows, CI/CD, and Docker.
- Clear written and spoken English communication and a collaborative approach.
- Experience with Java/Kotlin, Go, or C is desirable.
- Android development experience is desirable.
- Embedded Linux experience, including Yocto, systemd, or cross-compilation, is desirable.
- Familiarity with NFC, smartcards, EMV contactless, Terraform/Terragrunt, gRPC, Protobuf, PCI, key management, hardware-in-the-loop testing, transit, ticketing, or IoT device fleets is desirable.
