Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js, Express.js, and Koa.
- Design MongoDB schemas, indexes, and queries, and work with SQL-based databases as project requirements dictate.
- Build secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs with authentication and authorization using OAuth and JWT.
- Implement security and data-protection best practices across APIs, data flows, and database designs.
- Debug production systems, analyze logs and metrics, resolve root causes, and address performance and scalability bottlenecks.
- Contribute to AI integrations, LLM-driven workflows, agent-based systems, media streaming, voice systems, and real-time services.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and cross-functional teams, and document code, APIs, and database schemas.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of professional backend development experience using Node.js and MongoDB.
- Strong JavaScript proficiency, including asynchronous programming, promises, async/await, modules, closures, and event-driven patterns.
- Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL in addition to MongoDB.
- Hands-on experience with Express.js and Koa, API design, middleware, routing, validation, and error management.
- Experience with schema design, query optimization, execution-plan analysis, and indexing strategies.
- Familiarity with OAuth, JWT, token-based authentication, role-based access control, and web security practices.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving production issues in live systems.
- Experience with media streaming, voice-processing workflows, AI or LLM integrations, and agent-based systems.
- Understanding of testing with Jest, Mocha, or Chai and proficiency with Git.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes is a plus.
- Familiarity with microservices, event-driven systems, Agile/Scrum, and Redis is preferred.
