Staff Software Engineer (Bangalore Based Job)
SentinelOneResponsibilities
- Define the architecture and technical roadmap for the self-hosted On-Prem console.
- Lead ambiguous, cross-cutting initiatives from problem framing through production in constrained, air-gapped, and on-premises environments.
- Make foundational architecture decisions for scale, reliability, upgradeability, and performance.
- Own packaging, deployment, patching, operating-system upgrades, infrastructure components, and upgrade strategies for self-hosted customers.
- Mentor engineers, conduct design and code reviews, and raise engineering standards across the organization.
- Drive cross-team technical alignment and improve how customers deploy, operate, and trust SentinelOne software.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend development experience with technical leadership on large-scale systems.
- Proficiency in Go or Python.
- Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience with both relational database management systems and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with unit and integration testing.
- Experience designing distributed systems and managing partitioning, consistency, and availability trade-offs.
- Experience architecting high-performance microservices-based backend systems at scale.
- Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture, Kafka, high-scale API design, database sharding, and resilience patterns such as circuit breakers.
- Deep understanding of operating systems and networking fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus Docker and Docker Compose.
- Demonstrated cross-team influence, mentoring experience, ownership from design through incident resolution, and strong communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include open-source contributions, AI coding agent or agentic development workflow experience, and experience with on-premises, self-hosted, or air-gapped deployments and the Kafka ecosystem.
