Staff Software Engineer - iOS

- Build product features in collaboration with technical program managers, software development managers, and product stakeholders.
- Advocate best practices for player architecture, design, and development.
- Architect, design, and develop the Player SDK with internal and external stakeholders.
- Own product development from concept through development, testing, acceptance, adoption, and iterative improvements.
- Drive operational excellence through metrics and continuous improvement.
- Identify architecture, design, protocol, and performance improvements and suggest new features.
- Improve the playback experience for internal customers, client application developers, testers, product managers, and end users.
- Mentor software development engineers and help with backlog grooming and estimations.
Requirements
- 9–12 years of experience in the broadcast video or OTT domain and architecting native applications for the Apple ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of Apple TV architecture, media frameworks, media player APIs, AV Foundation, Apple SDKs, Swift, and debugging.
- Ability to make data-driven technical decisions for architecture and new product features.
- Experience identifying optimization opportunities and improving application performance.
- Experience with DevOps/SRE practices such as continuous integration and deployment, performance monitoring, and incident management.
- Mentoring and coaching skills to build succession for architecture and design.
- Understanding of Android components including activities, services, intents, broadcast receivers, content providers, and UI components and controls.
- Familiarity with web service integration, JSON, and REST concepts.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in object-oriented design, algorithms, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
