Responsibilities
- Build, ship, and own enterprise mobile applications and features across iOS, Android, and shared components.
- Modernize legacy mobile applications and evolve scalable, modular, testable mobile architectures.
- Design and implement mobile foundations including shared components, design systems, offline capabilities, authentication, telemetry, and release infrastructure.
- Integrate mobile applications with backend services, APIs, identity providers, analytics platforms, event-driven workflows, and AI-enabled services.
- Develop intelligent mobile experiences using LLMs, AI services, on-device intelligence, contextual assistance, automation, and personalization where appropriate.
- Apply AI-assisted tools and workflows for design, coding, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, code review, and release readiness.
- Lead technical discovery, solution design, planning, execution tracking, launch readiness, release coordination, and post-launch follow-through for assigned workstreams.
- Provide technical leadership and make architecture tradeoffs across native development, cross-platform reuse, performance, security, maintainability, and delivery speed.
- Optimize applications for performance, memory, battery life, network efficiency, accessibility, localization, offline behavior, and reliability.
- Support mobile testing, build signing, release automation, observability, crash reporting, production monitoring, incident response, and app-store releases.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, architecture discussions, and implementation guidance.
- Coordinate with product, design, backend, security, DevOps/SRE, QA, support, and business stakeholders to deliver mobile outcomes.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, including significant hands-on mobile engineering experience.
- Proven experience delivering complex mobile applications, mobile features, or mobile platform capabilities and modernizing legacy mobile systems.
- Hands-on experience building and shipping applications for both iOS and Android, including cross-platform mobile development.
- Strong proficiency with Swift and iOS platform development, including lifecycle, concurrency, networking, persistence, testing, and App Store release practices.
- Strong proficiency with Kotlin and Android platform development, including Android architecture, Jetpack, coroutines, networking, persistence, testing, and Google Play release practices.
- Hands-on experience with React Native, Flutter, Kotlin Multiplatform, .NET MAUI, or equivalent cross-platform frameworks.
- Experience with mobile architecture patterns including MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, modular architecture, dependency injection, and design-system integration.
- Experience integrating mobile applications with GraphQL, identity providers, telemetry, crash reporting, analytics, feature flags, and remote configuration.
- Experience applying AI-assisted development tools and AI-driven engineering practices, with working knowledge of LLM-powered product experiences, AI service integration, structured outputs, validation, and responsible AI guardrails.
- Strong understanding of mobile security, secure storage, authentication, authorization, privacy, encryption, certificate pinning, OWASP Mobile risks, and compliance-aware engineering.
- Experience with unit, UI automation, integration, contract, snapshot, and regression testing for mobile applications.
- Experience with mobile build automation, signing, provisioning, release tracks, app-store submission, observability, and production monitoring.
- Comfort working with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments and backend integration patterns.
- Proficiency with Git and modern software development workflows.
- Strong understanding of performance tuning, reliability engineering, accessibility, and user-centered mobile design.
- Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, coordinating stakeholders, managing technical risks, and driving workstreams through delivery.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with shared mobile libraries, SDKs, design systems, offline-first applications, synchronization, conflict resolution, mobile observability, event streaming, messaging, real-time data workflows, regulated applications, and Agile/Scrum environments.
