Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications and backend services.
- Develop RESTful APIs and backend integrations from business and technical requirements.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions and make sound technical decisions.
- Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support root-cause analysis.
- Improve software performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and quality.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and guide implementation of complex work.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams.
- Contribute to technical documentation and continuous process improvement.
Requirements
- Strong experience in Java development and backend services.
- Knowledge of Spring Framework, Spring Boot, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, SQL, relational databases, and JPA, Hibernate, or similar ORM frameworks.
- Strong unit and integration testing experience using JUnit, Mockito, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with Git, code reviews, debugging, and static code analysis.
- Knowledge of application security, authentication, and authorization.
- Experience with microservices, distributed systems, cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, messaging systems, monitoring, observability, performance tuning, or scalability improvements is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Spring Security, Spring Cloud, reactive programming, CI/CD pipelines, OpenAPI, Swagger, GraphQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React, Vue.js, Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium is advantageous.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Typically 12+ years of relevant software development experience.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives is advantageous.
