Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain backend services for the cloud-hosted PBX platform.
Contribute to architecture decisions involving scalability, reliability, maintainability, observability, and functionality.
Use profiling, optimization, and capacity analysis to improve system performance.
Debug and resolve complex production and pre-production issues.
Collaborate with QA on functional and performance test strategies and scenarios.
Write clean, maintainable, unit-tested code and improve engineering standards through code reviews and mentoring.

At least 2 years of professional, backend-focused software development experience.
Recent professional development experience using Python.
Experience with Linux-based development and deployments, Nginx, and Tomcat.
Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS and building and consuming APIs.
Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including schema design and query performance fundamentals.
Ability to understand and safely modify existing and legacy codebases.
Experience designing or evolving high-load, networked systems involving throughput, latency, and availability considerations.
Experience with CI/CD practices and extensive test automation.
Ability to debug concurrency issues involving threads and synchronization or asynchronous execution patterns.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Primarily remote work arrangement.
Occasional visits to the office in Coimbra or Aveiro are required.
A future office in Porto is planned.
