Responsibilities
- Contribute to software development from inception, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Work with open source software and contribute to Apache Arrow projects.
- Participate in code and design reviews to maintain quality and deepen system architecture knowledge.
- Collaborate with program managers, support, architects, customers, and client tool partners on features and updates.
- Participate in recruiting, mentoring, and developing best practices.
- Develop scalable distributed systems and deploy, scale, and manage platform services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- Fluency in Java, C++, or another modern programming language.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, multithreaded and asynchronous programming patterns, and scalable systems development.
- Passion for quality, zero-downtime upgrades, availability, resiliency, and platform uptime.
- Experience developing scalable distributed systems and deploying, scaling, and managing microservices.
- Bonus qualifications include JDBC, ODBC, ADBC, database driver or protocol experience, Apache Arrow, SQL, databases, distributed systems, highly available services, client-side libraries or applications, and open source contributions.
