Base Salary

$165k - $274k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems and platform services using Go.
  • Own end-to-end architecture and system design, including service decomposition, data modeling, API design, and inter-service communication.
  • Drive performance optimization across CPU, memory, I/O, and network resources using profiling and observability tools.
  • Troubleshoot distributed-system failures, latency spikes, resource contention, and other complex production issues.
  • Build and operate high-scale systems using Kafka, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Redis or Valkey, Docker, Kubernetes, and HashiStack.
  • Collaborate with Product, SRE, and Security teams to deliver resilient, secure, production-ready solutions.
  • Lead design reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and engineering excellence initiatives.
  • Own the full software lifecycle from requirements and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Champion DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and the 'You build it, you run it' culture.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend systems and distributed architectures.
  • Strong Go programming expertise, including concurrency, memory management, and performance tuning.
  • Extensive experience building distributed systems and microservices at scale.
  • Strong understanding of scalability, fault tolerance, consistency models, and system-design trade-offs.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux processes, networking, file systems, and performance diagnostics.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes or HashiStack, including Nomad, Consul, and Vault.
  • Strong experience with event-driven and data-intensive systems using Apache Kafka.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and caching systems such as Redis.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Amazon Web Services, including MSK, Aurora, and OpenSearch.
  • Experience with profiling, benchmarking, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and system performance optimization.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
