Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, implement, and support Oracle APEX applications and PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, views, and related database objects.
  • Lead technical design discussions and contribute to scalable, secure, maintainable architecture decisions.
  • Translate business requirements into secure, user-focused technical solutions while collaborating directly with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain integrations using RESTful APIs, Oracle REST Data Services, and related technologies.
  • Conduct code reviews and promote development standards, secure coding practices, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in backlog refinement, estimation, sprint planning, testing, deployment, and retrospectives.
  • Troubleshoot production, data, integration, and application issues through root cause analysis and sustainable remediation.
  • Contribute to platform upgrades, security remediation, technical debt reduction, application modernization, and automation initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and AI-assisted development tools, including support for APEX Office Print and SerpApi integrations.
  • Provide technical documentation, cross-training, mentoring, and technical leadership during design, reviews, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • At least five years of professional software development experience, including a strong Oracle background.
  • At least five years of experience as an Oracle APEX developer or software engineer in a client-focused organization.
  • Experience with web application development and relational database technologies.
  • Strong experience with SQL, PL/SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with Oracle REST Data Services, APEX Office Print, and REST-based web services.
  • Experience with Git and source control, including SQLcl Projects or similar structured deployment tools.
  • Knowledge of application security best practices, secure coding, relational database design, data modeling, data integrity, and database implementation.
  • Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 AA web accessibility standards.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Completion of Harvard IT Academy foundational courses or an external equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
