Responsibilities
- Develop CDS view entities, projections, metadata extensions, behavior definitions and implementations, service definitions, and bindings.
- Implement managed RAP applications and contribute to unmanaged scenarios with senior guidance.
- Build validations, determinations, actions, side effects, draft functionality, locking, feature controls, and authorization checks.
- Use EML for transactional processing and follow RAP lifecycle and save-sequence rules.
- Expose OData V4 services and integrate them with Fiori Elements.
- Use released objects and APIs while following clean-core, ABAP Cloud, and upgrade-safe standards.
- Perform testing, debugging, defect correction, optimization, code reviews, ATC remediation, AUnit testing, and deployment support.
- Collaborate with functional, UI, integration, security, and architecture teams.
- Create documentation and support production root-cause analysis.
- Evaluate and guide responsible adoption of AI and generative AI capabilities for development, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and automation.
- Complete and test RAP objects, resolve CDS, behavior, OData, authorization, and Fiori integration defects, and contribute to reusable patterns and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of relevant SAP ABAP experience with practical RAP and CDS experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of CDS entities, behaviors, projections, service definitions and bindings, EML, and OData V4.
- Experience with managed RAP and understanding of unmanaged scenarios.
- Understanding of draft, locking, authorization, actions, validations, determinations, and Fiori Elements integration.
- Knowledge of clean core, ABAP Cloud restrictions, released APIs, and upgrade-safe extensibility.
- Proficiency with ADT/Eclipse, debugging, ATC, unit testing, version control, and Agile delivery.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with AI-assisted software engineering, Generative AI, SAP Business AI, SAP AI Core, SAP AI Launchpad, or equivalent enterprise AI capabilities.
- Preferred SAP S/4HANA Cloud or BTP ABAP environment experience.
- Preferred knowledge of Flexible Workflow, business events, background processing, AJF, CAP, or BTP integration.
- Preferred SAPUI5 and Fiori Elements exposure and RAP/ABAP Cloud certification.
