Base Salary
$185k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex AI-backed product features from initial concept through production.
- Architect systems that orchestrate LLMs, retrieval systems, and structured data.
- Balance flexibility, reliability, performance, latency, cost, and output quality.
- Create evaluation frameworks, experimentation processes, and user-feedback loops to improve AI outputs.
- Drive technical direction and execution across multiple engineers within a product area.
- Mentor engineers on code quality, system design, product thinking, and AI-assisted development.
- Use modern AI tools to improve iteration speed, code quality, and team productivity.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and scaling product-facing systems and owning complex features or product areas end-to-end.
- Strong programming, architecture, and design skills across a modern web stack, with Python preferred.
- Experience working with AI/LLM-powered systems or the ability to ramp quickly and shape their behavior in production.
- Demonstrated ownership of projects from idea through production and experience providing mentorship and technical leadership.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and set technical direction.
- Preferred: experience building or experimenting with LLM-powered features, including prompting, evaluation, or RAG.
- Preferred: experience balancing latency, cost, and quality in system design.
- Preferred: exposure to user-feedback loops, experimentation, or evaluation frameworks.
