Responsibilities
- Build maintainable Python backend services and APIs and modern React user experiences.
- Collaborate with Staff Engineers and Product Managers to define and refine new product architecture.
- Own feature design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance from concept through production.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to support code quality and system reliability.
- Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Identify technical challenges and drive practical solutions with minimal oversight.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, engineering standards, and development best practices.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software development experience building complex, large-scale applications; 14+ years is preferred.
- At least 3 years of professional Python experience building production-grade APIs and backend services.
- At least 3 years of professional React experience, including modern frameworks, state management, UI libraries, and testing tools.
- Ability to build and own full-stack features from database design through frontend implementation.
- Strong experience with comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Ability to work proactively and independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience leading or co-leading system architecture decisions is preferred.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL and MongoDB or DynamoDB is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and GitHub Actions or Jenkins is preferred.
- Professional Node.js experience is preferred.
