Base Salary
$207k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead hardware-system co-design for next-generation custom silicon and SoCs and translate software performance insights into architectural requirements.
- Optimize Linux kernel internals and hypervisors across x86 and Arm hyperscale infrastructure to reduce virtualization overhead.
- Architect bare-metal microbenchmarks, diagnostic tools, and profiling suites for CPU, cache, and memory bottleneck analysis.
- Drive technical alignment across silicon architecture, platform firmware, operating-system, and cloud-infrastructure teams.
- Mentor and technically direct engineers while establishing performance methodologies, benchmarking standards, and architectural practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Eight years of experience in software development and system programming.
- Experience with Linux kernel internals, kernel virtualization, or hypervisor development.
- Experience with performance analysis, debugging, and system optimization on server architectures.
- Preferred experience with KVM, two-level paging, VM-exit optimization, vCPU scheduling, and bare-metal microbenchmarks.
- Preferred experience with hardware/software co-design and influencing SoC or CPU feature specifications.
- Preferred expertise in virtualization performance characterization and root-causing virtualization overhead on enterprise server platforms.
- A master’s degree or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
