Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable Bumble application features on Android using GCP services.
- Own technically complex product features from inception through technical design, implementation, testing, and release.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to deliver new features and improvements.
- Lead architecture discussions and propose long-term technical solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers through pairing, code reviews, and other guidance.
- Help establish engineering standards and best practices for a high-quality codebase.
- Evaluate and apply AI-based development tools and workflows to improve productivity and code quality.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience building and shipping production Android applications.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android development practices.
- Experience building UIs with Jetpack Compose and/or XML-based views, including understanding their tradeoffs.
- Experience designing and maintaining Android architectures such as MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture in medium-to-large codebases.
- Strong understanding of Android activity and fragment lifecycles, threading, performance, and memory management.
- Experience integrating networked APIs in Android clients, including error handling and offline considerations.
- Experience owning Android features end-to-end through testing and release.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, inclusive mindset.
