Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across platform squads through architecture decisions, engineering standards, paved paths, and reusable patterns.
- Lead cross-engineering initiatives involving CI foundations, delivery workflows, environments, and self-service platform entry points.
- Improve operability through SLO practices, dashboards, alerting standards, runbooks, failure recovery patterns, and incident readiness.
- Investigate and remediate reliability and performance issues through root cause analysis, automation, and postmortem follow-through.
- Build and operate critical platform services and tooling for production traffic and internal users.
- Mentor senior engineers and technical leads while raising design and execution standards.
- Use delivery, reliability, adoption, and satisfaction metrics to guide priorities and measure outcomes.
- Participate in on-call and major incident response and improve incident prevention over time.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a senior technical leader at Staff, Principal, or equivalent level with cross-team impact.
- Extensive hands-on experience designing, building, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-traffic distributed systems in production.
- Deep experience with DevOps and cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, including networking, identity and access patterns, infrastructure automation, and operational practices.
- Experience with CI/CD systems, build and test reliability, artifact management, and developer workflows.
- Strong reliability engineering foundations, including observability, alerting, incident response, capacity planning, and automation-driven prevention.
- Ability to communicate complex tradeoffs, drive alignment through RFCs, and influence technical direction across teams.
- Comfort writing production-quality tooling through AI-assisted coding.
