Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain shared online gameplay technology with the Fortnite Online team.
  • Contribute to online systems and toolsets used by Unreal Engine licensees, Fortnite, and other Epic games.
  • Develop solutions from initial concept through final shipped code and ensure released systems are stable for players.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline is required.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in object-oriented programming and C++ is required.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of networking, REST, and using backend services with resiliency in mind is required.
  • Interest in online multiplayer games and games as a service is expected.
  • A technical portfolio showing programming work, game or feature development, online features, tools, or relevant projects is strongly desired.
  • Familiarity with Java, Unreal Engine, or UEFN is a plus or strongly desired.
  • Strong preference is given to candidates who demonstrate AI and LLM usage for code and tooling development.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the posting location for the duration of the internship.
