Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain production services across multiple infrastructure projects.
- Develop and operate Gaio, including LLM provider integrations, consumer APIs, routing, usage metering, streaming responses, and protocol normalization.
- Develop and maintain VeepeeCloud services, private cloud APIs, Terraform providers, and CLI clients.
- Participate in architectural discussions, infrastructure decisions, code reviews, and maintenance of code quality.
- Collaborate with SREs and DevOps engineers on operational decisions, production support, incident response, and critical-event war rooms.
- Use AI coding agents as part of the daily development workflow.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience on large-scale systems.
- Strong proficiency in at least one of Go, Rust, or Scala, with willingness to work across all three.
- Proven experience with large databases, including schema design, query optimization, and operational concerns at scale.
- Direct experience with production incident management, support rotations, and war rooms.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of fault tolerance, observability, scalability, and reliability in distributed systems.
- Comfort working with AI coding agents and independently learning new technologies, APIs, and domains.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Nice-to-have qualifications include Rust experience, LLM API experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini, SRE or platform engineering experience, open-source contributions, and multi-datacenter or hybrid cloud deployment experience.
