Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end embedded control software development for PV and ESS power-converter reference systems, including grid-tied control, energy storage management, protection logic, algorithm implementation, coding, debugging, verification, and release iteration.
- Define software-hardware interfaces and develop control algorithms and low-level MCU peripheral drivers in collaboration with hardware engineers.
- Build system-level and control-algorithm simulation models to validate logic and optimize dynamic response and efficiency before hardware implementation.
- Support system roadmaps, assess residential and commercial & industrial reference-design requirements, and propose control solutions.
- Troubleshoot software and control anomalies during laboratory validation and customer reference-board testing, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver optimized releases.
- Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers and prepare application notes and troubleshooting documentation.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of hands-on digital power control software development experience with PV/ESS inverter or related power-conversion systems.
- Familiarity with at least 2–3 mainstream power-conversion topologies, including NPC1, NPC2, ANPC, HERIC, Buck/Boost, LLC, and DAB.
- Ability to independently develop current and voltage closed-loop controls, PI/PID and PR controllers, feedforward control, state machines, grid-following and grid-forming inverter control, PLL functions, and active/reactive power regulation.
- Experience with ESS PCS control, battery charge/discharge management, BMS communication, energy-management functions, fault detection, protection algorithms, diagnostics, and fault handling.
- Proficiency in MCU peripheral low-level driver development, real-time digital control, PWM generation, ADC synchronization, interrupt handling, DMA transfer, peripheral configuration, and C/C++ embedded programming.
- Ability to perform system-level and control-algorithm simulation for power-converter applications.
- Experience using embedded IDEs, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and other power-electronics test and debugging tools.
- Strong systematic troubleshooting, cross-functional communication, teamwork, and working English skills.
- Preferred experience includes control software for GaN/SiC semiconductors, power MCUs and gate-driver ICs; high-power C&I grid-tied inverters; large-capacity ESS PCS platforms; LVRT/HVRT; anti-islanding compliance; and advanced power-conversion control strategies.
About Infineon Technologies
Infineon Technologies designs and manufactures semiconductors for automotive, industrial, and IoT applications, including power devices, microcontrollers, sensors, and security ICs. The Germany-based public company, spun out of Siemens in 1999 and headquartered in Neubiberg near Munich, sells chips and reference solutions to OEMs and device makers worldwide. It trades on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (ETR: IFX) and expanded its portfolio with the 2020 acquisition of Cypress Semiconductor.
