Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable, high-performance backend services in Python on AWS.
- Architect distributed systems balancing consistency, availability, latency, cost, and operational complexity.
- Provide technical leadership from discovery and design through delivery and operations.
- Use Claude Code or similar AI-native development tools for implementation, testing, review, and debugging, and help establish team practices.
- Partner with product teams and customers to translate requirements into well-scoped features.
- Investigate production issues and improve observability, reliability, and incident response.
- Improve engineering processes, CI/CD, and developer tooling.
- Build next-generation security analytics and AI-powered capabilities for enterprise customers.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software development experience, including enterprise-grade backend systems.
- Expert-level Python experience building production backend services and REST APIs.
- Deep AWS and cloud architecture experience, including compute, storage, networking, messaging, IAM, and managed data services.
- Strong distributed systems knowledge covering scalability, fault tolerance, concurrency, data consistency, and event-driven or asynchronous architectures.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and OLTP and OLAP data stores.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Daily hands-on fluency with Claude Code or similar agentic coding tools, including decomposing work, critically validating output, and maintaining quality, security, and maintainability.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- BSCS or equivalent required; MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Preferred experience building production LLM agents with LangGraph, ReAct-style reasoning, tool-use loops, planning, sub-agents, and long-running tasks.
- Preferred experience with observability tooling, SLO-driven operations, Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation, Kafka, Kinesis, and SQS/SNS.
