Responsibilities
- Guide feature development across full-stack systems using React, TypeScript, Node.js, Java, and Next.js.
- Drive strategic technical decisions, code design standards, modular monolith architecture, and long-term system health.
- Build and operate high-traffic product systems with an AI-first approach across design, coding, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Use GenAI coding tools to improve development speed and quality, and integrate LLM APIs into production applications.
- Optimize frontend performance, SEO, Core Web Vitals, and overall user experience.
- Design efficient, observable, production-ready backend services in the cloud.
- Drive A/B experimentation, performance measurement, feature-flag usage, and data-informed iteration.
- Mentor engineers and foster technical growth and a high-performance engineering culture.
Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering experience.
- Experience leading teams of five or more people in recent years.
- Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Experience applying strong code design principles and building high-traffic applications in product-focused environments.
- Demonstrated ability to use GenAI coding tools, preferably Codex, to significantly improve development speed and quality.
- Experience integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI, or similar services into production applications.
- Strong understanding of frontend performance, SEO, and Core Web Vitals.
- Comfort with experimentation, feature flags, and data-driven iteration.
- Clear communication and mentoring ability, with experience guiding technical decisions and team growth.
- Preferred: backend expertise in Java and distributed systems, with Scala as a plus.
- Preferred: experience with marketplace platforms, consumer-facing products, large-scale frontend architecture, tooling, testing strategies, or performance profiling.
