Responsibilities
- Lead engineering teams in end-to-end feature implementation within the navigation organization.
- Design, build, and optimize machine learning and data pipelines.
- Develop tools for automated quality assurance and data exploration.
- Apply geospatial algorithms to optimize pipelines and create automated tuning and outlier detection algorithms.
- Partner with data scientists to improve models for movement and traffic patterns.
- Mentor colleagues and participate in code and design reviews.
- Participate in the on-call rotation to maintain system availability for customers.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of backend and machine learning engineering experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Python, distributed processing pipelines, very large datasets, statistical analysis, data quality control, and storage optimization.
- Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Airflow, and Dask.
- Extensive experience with cloud and infrastructure services and deploying and managing infrastructure in cloud environments.
- Experience mentoring and leading engineering teams and supporting colleagues’ skill and career growth.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to lead complex technical discussions and collaborate across security, DevOps, data, compliance, and product teams.
- Ability to lead technical strategy, own a vision, execute end-to-end features, and drive quality and robust architecture.
- Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including possible after-hours and weekend response.
