Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of high-quality, scalable applications supporting Multi-Asset investment workflows.
- Translate complex business needs into practical, maintainable technical solutions with product owners, investment professionals, and technology stakeholders.
- Contribute to technical design, architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering standards.
- Apply automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, refactoring, secure coding, and other modern software engineering practices.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions that improve reliability and performance.
- Build AI-enabled applications, intelligent workflows, or agentic systems and take them from prototypes toward production.
- Partner with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, traders, and senior stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers, share knowledge, promote best practices, and support an inclusive collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field with meaningful mathematical and computing content, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 5+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, testing, and supporting production applications.
- Strong proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience with Pandas, React, Node.js, and Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and deploying solutions using cloud technologies, containerization, serverless architectures, and related DevOps practices.
- Experience with automated testing practices and tools such as Cucumber and Cypress.
- Experience with one or more of SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or Redshift.
- Hands-on experience building AI-enabled applications, intelligent workflows, or agentic systems using modern LLMs and AI development frameworks.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical partners.
- Preferred experience includes web development, data visualization, algorithms, data structures, design patterns, scalable application design, mathematical concepts, and Multi-Asset investment strategies.
- Preferred experience includes financial instruments, derivatives, capital markets, direct partnership with front-office clients, mentoring engineers, and improving engineering standards.
- Preferred AI experience includes agent orchestration, tool or function calling, retrieval-based systems, prompt and context engineering, structured outputs, evaluation, observability, monitoring, reliability, security, and guardrails.
