Base Salary
$180k - $270k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, productize, document, and support shared tools for high-toil engineering workflows such as triage, rebase/payload, and release processes.
- Prototype and iterate rapidly using AI tooling as requirements evolve.
- Use engineering metrics and monitoring tools to diagnose workflow friction and improve developer velocity.
- Design maintainable, correct, and reliable tools and services with clean REST, gRPC, and CLI interfaces.
- Partner with technical leads and managers on developer-tooling roadmaps.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct deep code reviews, and establish operational excellence through incident response, change management, and build observability.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of production software engineering experience in developer productivity, tooling, or platform engineering.
- Mastery of Python and C++ in production Linux environments.
- Experience building internal or developer-facing software and turning prototypes into supported shared tools.
- Experience with Docker for reproducible environments and fluent use of AI coding tools.
- Hands-on experience designing interfaces such as gRPC, REST, and CLI for tools and services.
- Comfort using engineering metrics and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, fb303, scribe, and t-digest.
- Familiarity with Go or Java is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
