Base Salary
$180k - $270k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and support shared tools for engineering workflows including triage, rebase/payload, and release processes.
- Prototype and iterate rapidly using AI-assisted development, then turn prototypes into documented, reliable production tools.
- Use engineering metrics and monitoring to identify workflow friction and improve developer velocity.
- Design maintainable software and clean REST, gRPC, and CLI interfaces for internal tools and services.
- Partner with technical leads and managers on developer-tooling roadmaps.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct deep code reviews, and establish observability, incident response, and change-management practices.
Requirements
- 6+ years of production software engineering experience in developer productivity, tooling, or platform engineering.
- Production mastery of Python and C++ in Linux environments.
- Experience building internal or developer-facing tools and converting prototypes into supported shared tools.
- Experience with Docker for reproducible environments and AI coding tools for rapid development.
- Hands-on experience designing REST, gRPC, and CLI interfaces.
- Experience using engineering metrics and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, fb303, scribe, and t-digest.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Go or Java is preferred.
