Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
- Build and scale infrastructure supporting AI workloads, including cost management, API reliability, and platform support for LLM-powered features.
- Debug cluster behavior under load, service-to-service traffic, event-backbone consumer lag, and database performance issues.
- Own the infrastructure-as-code estate, including state management, drift reconciliation, and module standards.
- Advance delivery pipelines with policy-as-code gates, progressive delivery, and tested, reviewed, auditable changes.
- Contribute to internal AI tooling, including the MCP server and agentic workflows.
- Engineer cost controls through right-sizing, reserved capacity, and waste removal.
- Mentor peers through pairing, code review, and knowledge sharing.
- Cover security and governance in collaboration with the infrastructure team.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering skills and the ability to work across languages as needed.
- Production infrastructure ownership experience on a major cloud provider, including handling outages.
- Deep infrastructure-as-code knowledge, including state and module design.
- Production Kubernetes experience debugging misbehaving clusters.
- Experience designing CI/CD pipelines rather than only consuming them.
- Fluent and critical use of AI tooling, with awareness of its limitations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, async-first environment.
- Calm, methodical incident response and clear communication under pressure.
- Desirable: experience in freight, logistics, supply chain, B2B SaaS, or operational technology.
- Desirable: workflow automation or orchestration experience, such as n8n.
- Desirable: experience with service meshes, event streaming at scale, or managed Postgres-compatible databases under load.
- Desirable: familiarity with IAM, SSO, secret management, or SRE methodology.
- Desirable: experience building with LLM APIs, MCP servers, or agentic tooling.
