Responsibilities
- Design and develop distributed systems and cloud-native backend services used across the Alteryx platform.
- Build scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot, with deployments orchestrated through Kubernetes and Docker.
- Lead product-facing initiatives delivering AI-powered customer experiences through integrated data insights.
- Mentor engineers on software craftsmanship, system design, and architecture decisions.
- Collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure teams to translate business goals into engineering solutions.
- Drive observability, reliability practices, and proactive incident resolution.
- Lead technical discussions, identify architectural improvements, and influence roadmap planning.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on experience building scalable backend systems.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and service-oriented architecture.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and deployment tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience building and consuming APIs and working with cloud data solutions such as Snowflake and BigQuery.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices communication such as gRPC, and asynchronous processing.
- Understanding of CI/CD workflows and tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Terraform.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across the full product lifecycle from concept through production support.
