Base Salary
$125k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop highly reliable software solutions used across SpaceX.
- Create applications that improve SpaceX operations.
- Build prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
- Own software engineering and product development from design through delivery.
- Understand user problems and create efficient solutions.
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Profile and improve application performance.
- Build, deploy, monitor, and maintain production software systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a scientific discipline, or 2+ years of professional software-building experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 1 year of full-stack development experience.
- Preferred programming experience with Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or a similar object-oriented language.
- Preferred experience building single-page web applications, designing software systems, and working with testing, integration, build, deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Preferred experience with build systems, package management, UNIX-like systems, infrastructure tools, streaming data processing, Docker, Kubernetes, frontend frameworks, and databases.
- Must satisfy SpaceX ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.
Benefits
- Onsite work is required; remote and hybrid work are not considered.
- The role may require extended hours or weekends depending on launch cadence.
- Base salary range is $125,000.00-$195,000.00 depending on level and qualifications.
- Potential eligibility for company stock or long-term cash awards, discretionary bonuses, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
