Responsibilities
- Build and maintain application infrastructure focused on reliability, automation, scalability, availability, and latency.
- Develop automation and tooling for deployments, configuration changes, application management, and disaster recovery.
- Implement observability and monitoring systems to proactively detect and diagnose problems.
- Evaluate application capacity, identify performance bottlenecks, and recommend scaling approaches.
- Collaborate with application development teams on technical requirements, software delivery practices, and microservice design patterns.
- Provide technical liaison support, documentation, and runbooks for Level 1 and Level 2 teams.
- Establish repeatable standards and reusable work across teams while supporting system and data security.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field, with experience typically obtained through the degree and related work.
- 5+ years of related experience managing large, complex projects in a technical or software development environment, inclusive of post-graduate degree.
- Experience with incident and problem management in a medium- to large-scale enterprise.
- Strong understanding of scripting languages, Linux systems administration, Git, security, and encryption protocols.
- Hands-on experience implementing and using modern observability solutions.
- Preferred experience with Java, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, or Go.
- Preferred experience supporting applications in a 24/7 customer-facing production environment.
- Preferred knowledge of CI/CD workflows, TCP/UDP/IP protocols, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Swarm.
- Strong collaboration, communication, documentation, customer responsiveness, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Must complete a background and drug screen and be able to perform the position’s essential and physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
