Responsibilities
- Build enterprise-level artificial intelligence infrastructure, including high-performance computing and service mesh capabilities.
- Partner with data scientists to deliver end-to-end AI and big-data solutions for real-world internal and external customer problems.
- Own software design, development, troubleshooting, and production support from ideation through production.
- Understand business requirements, write programs, troubleshoot issues, and support data scientists and quantitative modelers.
- Develop and support microservice-based systems and foundational services in State Street’s hybrid cloud.
- Provide production support and optimize model inference where applicable.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in computer science or at least 3 years of related work experience.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
- Rich hands-on software engineering experience with enterprise-level systems and a proven record of delivering enterprise applications.
- At least 2 years of modern object-oriented or scripting programming experience with technologies such as Python, C++, Java, or Shell.
- At least 1 year of experience with microservice architecture and implementation using technologies such as Spring Cloud, gRPC, Thrift, Kubernetes, or Docker.
- Familiarity with distributed technologies, caching, message queues, NIO, and structured and unstructured data storage systems.
- Experience with GitHub, continuous integration and deployment tools, and agile methodology.
- Familiarity with web frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React is a plus.
- Experience in asset management software engineering, data science and machine learning frameworks, or model inference optimization is highly desirable.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to learn new technologies.
