Base Salary
$60k - $117k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and implementation of complex Java and Spring Boot microservices applications.
- Design secure and reliable integrations between microservices and upstream or downstream systems.
- Guide GitLab source control, branching, merging, code review, and pipeline practices.
- Use Gemini Code Assist or similar tools for code generation, refactoring, and validation.
- Define and execute unit, integration, and component testing strategies.
- Optimize Java service performance, resource usage, response times, and scalability.
- Monitor production systems, investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive fixes.
- Coordinate with product owners, business stakeholders, architecture teams, and infrastructure teams.
- Guide secure coding and compliance practices across repositories and services.
- Document technical designs, workflows, and operational procedures.
- Mentor and coach engineers on microservices architecture, Java Spring Boot practices, and Gemini Code Assist.
Requirements
- 10+ years of enterprise software engineering experience delivering complex solutions.
- Advanced Java and Spring Boot experience, including concurrency, collections, memory management, and performance tuning.
- Deep knowledge of microservices patterns, service decomposition, interservice communication, and resilience mechanisms.
- Strong proficiency with GitLab-based workflows, including branching, merging, code review, and pipeline management.
- Hands-on experience with Gemini Code Assist or similar intelligent development tools.
- Familiarity with merchandising or retail domain processes is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in hybrid on-site and remote collaboration environments without requiring travel.
